Job responsibilities:
Qobo is seeking to recruit a back-end developer with the following responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining custom-built, cutting-edge applications
- Writing clean code that is clear and understandable by others
- Contributing to project specifications and estimations
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Working closely with the creative team and front-end developers, as well as with clients
- Maintenance and debugging of back-end systems
- Troubleshooting and support and serve issues that come up
- Integrating back-end code into the existing front-end code

Job requirements:
- A University degree in computer science or related subject (candidates with equivalent work experience will also be considered)
- Commercial experience working with back-end development
- Experience in modern source code management approaches and software development using open-source technologies
- In-depth knowledge of working with an MVC framework such as CakePHP
- Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST)
- Knowledge of other scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash, etc)
- Experience of working with MySQL 5+
- Experience in using Version Control systems such as Git as part of a team
- Experience in automated testing (preferably PHPUnit)
- Design patterns knowledge and practical experience implementing them
- Experience with Agile project methodologies and their impact on iterative design
- A good eye for detail and a passion for delivering the highest standard of work
